Accessibility Statement

DRYDOCK RIGGING, CLEAR SIGHTLINES & UNIVERSAL SLIPWAY ACCESS

At the Great Slipway of TimberHarbour, a sound frame welcomes every builder aboard. Whether you navigate our coastal drydock by keyboard, screen reader, high-contrast display, or reduced-motion controls, our drafting lofts and sandbox ledgers are engineered for clear, unhurried exploration across Canada.

Our Commitment to WCAG 2.2 Level AA

STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY & DIGITAL JOINERY

Just as Master Shipwright Timbor Keel clamps his modular forearm workbenches onto every cedar beam to verify its load-bearing tolerances before launch, [Operator legal name] designs and maintains TimberHarbour (timberharbour.com) to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We also align our digital craftsmanship with the principles of the Accessible Canada Act and provincial accessibility standards across Canada, ensuring that teenagers and adults alike can inspect our independent game guides without barriers.

Every slipway section, verified facts block, and comparison ledger is built from the ground up with semantic HTML5 landmarks, high-contrast typography on calm spruce-and-alder reading panels, and predictable interactive controls. We test our pages to work cleanly even when JavaScript is disabled or unavailable.

High-Contrast Ink & Calm Grounds

All primary body copy is set in Rich Umber and Deep Charcoal Pitch against warm parchment, alder, and sun-bleached Sitka spruce surfaces, achieving contrast ratios well above the 4.5:1 AA minimum for normal text and 3:1 for large display headings.

Zero Text Truncation & Scalable Type

No sentence, badge, or table cell on TimberHarbour is ever clipped with ellipses. The finest print is never smaller than 12px (0.75rem), and layouts reflow smoothly in a single column down to a 320px viewport width or 200% browser zoom.

Keyboard Navigation, Focus Sightlines & Screen Readers

TACTILE CONTROLS & ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

A drydock manual must be operable whether you steer with a mouse, a touch screen, a mechanical keyboard, a switch device, or a screen reader. Every interactive element across TimberHarbour is built with native HTML controls so assistive technologies can read its role, name, and state accurately.

Drydock Feature WCAG 2.2 AA Standard How It Works on TimberHarbour
Skip to Main Content Link 2.4.1 Bypass Blocks Pressing Tab on any page immediately reveals a high-contrast “Skip to main drydock content” link at the top-left corner, moving focus straight past the navigation bar to <main id="main">.
Brass Focus Outlines 2.4.7 Focus Visible & 2.4.11 Focus Appearance Every link, button, disclosure summary, and menu toggle displays a 3px solid marine-brass outline (#D98200) with a 2px offset when focused via keyboard, never obscured by sticky headers.
Generous Touch & Pointer Targets 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum) Every navigation link, facts-block expander (<summary>), and official game link meets or exceeds the 24×24 CSS pixel minimum target size, with comfortable spacing between adjacent pills and buttons.
Verified Facts Disclosures 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value Each game's facts block uses a semantic description list (<dl>) for price, purchases, ads, account, chat, and check date, paired with a native <details> and <summary> toggle operable via Enter or Space.
Descriptive Official Site Links 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) Every outbound game button includes a screen-reader note announcing the specific game title and that the link opens the publisher's external official site in a new tab.
Artwork Alt Text & Decorative Separation 1.1.1 Non-text Content All nine original game cover illustrations and character cutouts carry full descriptive alternative text, while purely atmospheric backdrops, timber cleats, and plank seams carry empty alt="" attributes so screen readers are never cluttered.

Silent Hero Video & Reduced-Motion Behaviour

CALM AIRFLOW & VISITOR-CONTROLLED ANIMATION

Up on the high launch piers, chief aerodynamics engineer Harbra Vane locks her spruce-ribbed wings into cockpit frames to steady every craft against sudden gusts. We apply the same respect for steadiness and visual comfort to all motion on TimberHarbour:

  • Silent By Design (No Audio Tracks): The looping golden-hour hero video on our home page is completely silent and contains no audio track, ensuring it never interferes with screen-reader speech synthesis or startles visitors.
  • Manual Pause & Play Toggle: When the hero video plays on the home page, a dedicated, keyboard-accessible Pause / Play button sits in the bottom-right corner of the hero stage. Activating this button with a click, tap, Enter, or Space immediately pauses the video on its crisp painted frame.
  • Automatic Swap Under prefers-reduced-motion: reduce: If you have enabled Reduce Motion or Remove Animations in your operating system or browser settings (macOS, iOS, Windows, Android, or Linux), TimberHarbour automatically suppresses the looping hero video and displays the high-resolution static painted key visual instead.
  • Still Scroll & Hover Transitions: Under prefers-reduced-motion: reduce, all scroll-triggered section reveals (.th-reveal), smooth-scroll jumps, and card hover lifts are instantaneously disabled so the page remains rock-steady from the first paint.
